My name is Raiees Valley. I currently work in a hybrid setup for Old Mutual Investment Group as the Software Development and Architecture Manager reporting into the Head of IT Innovation. I look after the technical and human aspect of the engineering team which also includes creating an Architecture and Dev Ops capability – Over the years I’ve come to enjoy incubating and scaling out applications and teams.
My career spans over a number of industries over a 20 year (and still going) period. Working for Eskom, 24.com, Old Mutual, Sanlam Investment Group and Woolworths – I continue to learn on a daily basis.
Most of the topics here are based around the software development life cycle, architecture and general use of technology.
When I’m not fiddling with a piece of technology you’ll find me spending time with my beloved wife and kids.
